What We Believe
Ministry Mission Statement
The purpose of Shepherd of the Hills is to provide opportunities for people to gather around God’s Word and Sacraments, where disciples of all ages are nurtured, and equipped in the Christian faith. We serve our neighbors through acts of love and mercy and through our Christian Day school ministries.
Our Ministry Purpose
Shepherd of the Hills is a fellowship of Christians (forgiven sinners) gathered to grow as the Body of Christ. Together in the body of Christ, we want to share His love with others in our words and actions. As Christians, we proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, relying on His grace alone for our salvation (Ephesians 2:8-10). By the leading of the Holy Spirit we study the Scriptures to learn about God’s love for us through Jesus Christ our Lord. (John 3:16)
One of our highest priorities as a congregation is to gather together for worship. Gathering as believers to hear God’s Word and to celebrate the Sacraments is the foundation and center of our life as a community. Our prayer is that we remain in steadfast fast to God and in fervent love to one another.
We also pray that each member may become meaningfully united to the “family of faith” through personal relationships. These relationships are nurtured through small and mid-sized groups where mutual care, love, and service our expressed in faithfullness to Jesus’ encouragement to “love one another” (John 15:12).
