Personal Information:
My wife, Jodie, and I came to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church & School in June of 2006. I spent my first four years of ministry in a dual parish at Deer River and Squaw Lake, Minnesota, followed by fourteen years of service as Associate Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Bismarck, North Dakota. We enjoy living in Highlands Ranch and enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather and the mountains of the Denver front range.

I welcome the challenges of ministry in multi-staff settings like Shepherd of the Hills and particularly enjoy preaching, teaching, hospital visits, leadership and strategic planning.  Additionally, I like working with the outstanding leaders and servants at Shepherd.

We have three adult children, four grandchildren and always look forward to spending time with family.

Hunting and fishing with my black lab, Charlie; annual hunting and fishing trips back to North Dakota and Minnesota; watching the Broncos and Rockies; watching lifelong loves (as a native Minnesotan) – the Vikings and the Twins.

Fun Fact:
I coached high school wrestling and football for 30 years while being a pastor.  I was privileged to coach many state champions in wrestling and was part of one state football championship.

What I love about my position:
Preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus and encouraging a witness to the love and forgiveness of Jesus through acts of love and mercy.

Bible Verse with Special Meaning:
Matthew 25:35-37; 40 – “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me… The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
